Austal Philippines has commenced its first major commercial vessel servicing contract

news-details

Austal Philippines has commenced its first major commercial vessel servicing contract, on a 110 metre steel hull ropax ferry.

Utilising the shipyard’s own floating dock, Lewek Hercules, the Austal Philippines #team is undertaking a comprehensive program of repairs, cleaning and painting for Trans-Asia Shipping Lines.

The diversification of services has allowed the retention of skilled shipbuilding and servicing personnel at the Balamban Cebu shipyard, as the final fit-out on MOLSLINJEN A/S’s Express 5 is completed alongside and additional new-build vessel contracts are sought.

Austal Philippines servicing facilities also include a slipway capable of retrieving vessels up to 45 metres LOA, and multiple, enclosed assembly bays that allow service, maintenance and repairs to be carried out 24/7.

As commercial vessel operators return to ordering new-build ferries, Austal Philippines is ready to deliver new vessels and provide ship servicing, repairs and maintenance on existing fleets from around the world.
